two options..... get a guy to shoulder the door....you may have a little damage done though. also depending on the type of lock you maybe able to slide a credit card (use simler) and side in where the lock is...although this generally only works with yale type locks.

If the hinge pins are on the outside of the door (unlikely, I'm afraid) drive out the pins with a hammer and a thin nail, with its point flattened down. Then, carefully open the door from the wrong edge. Remove lock before refitting. As soon as you have taken all this trouble, the key will somehow magically materialise again, in a perfectly obvious place.

you have just a few of choices.
If you have brace hinges, they can be unscrewed, then take the door off and remove the lock
smash it down - not a great idea as you can damage the door, frame and furniture inside....the messiest idea.
Cut around the lock - destroys the door but keeps the frame ok. Need a new door and lock
Find the key ? I know you've searched everywhere but they don't diappear. It'll cost you £100 and 3 hours to fix a new door, that worth 4 hours methodical looking in my book
pay a locksmith to come and pick it for you...£75 plus a new lock

Don't call the locksmith yet!
Climb in the bedroom window and open the door.
Or if it is not the kind of lock you can open that way (unlikely) you can remove the lock assembly using a screwdriver, once you are inside the bedroom; and you can take the lock assembly to a locksmith and have them make a new key.
This is cheaper than having a locksmith come to the house.

I think Nigi-Magic is right, knock the door down, call out a locksmith or find the key.
I locked myself out of my apartment and had to break the glass to get in and cut up my arm and everything. I was finding glass for weeks afterwards despite using a brush and a vacuum to clean it up.
Alex m - the youth my case da joint to try and rob it later. Might not be a good idea in the long run!
Good luck

Can you see the hinges of the door? If so, using a nail and hammer you can tap the hinge pins out, open the door, and unlock it. You may need help rehanging the door. good luck

Locksmith or break it down. A good kick to the lock area should knock the lock and the wood that holds it in place out. Then you can just use a little carpentry diy to nail it, and the lock, back in.

Pick the lock with a paper clip or a hair pin.
It might be a bit tricky though because i have only seen it done in films so it might not work.

You will need to call the lock smith. Better make sure your little girl did not swallow it too. Next time keep it on a big ring.
