How difficult it is to build a web site? A bonus question where no one can answer it perfectly. If you ask a beginner, of course their answer going to be "YES!" but vice-versa for web designers. Let's put web designers aside for a while.

Building a web site is not easy or difficult either. If you start without any knowledge in HTML, then it will be pain staking. Step your foot here - learn those HTML codes. Forget about javascript, php, asp, whatever creatures they are - just ignore them for now. Once you're familiar with the basics, knowledge on those alienated scripts will slowly come to your understanding.

There's an option though. In order to hasten your understanding & skill-polishing, web design tools such as FrontPage, Dreamweaver, NVU, CoffeeCup can give you a BIG helping hand. These programs are able to transform those codes into HTML pages almost instantly! These type of programs are normally known as 'What You See Is What You Get' (WYSIWYG).

To build a web site yourself, be patient. that's the key.

How about if you want to promote your business? Well, almost 90% of web site you see today built primarily for business while another 10% if for information. Advertise your own business is great but you can also reserve some space to advertise other businesses that don't belong to you.

There are 2-ways of achieving these which are:
- affiliation
- paid advertising

Ouch, it has been too long for me to answer but the basic is almost there. That should be enough for now.

Hope this helps.

Building a website, depending on what you want to do with it, is time consuming. It's not necessarily difficult, but it does involve great attention to detail!

I believe that if you can get advertisers to work with you, you could charge them directly to put their advertisements on your website. But, you have to make it worthwile for them to want to, meaning, you need to assure them that you have sufficient traffic coming to your website which will eventually provide them with a return on their investment paid to you. To get that kind of traffic could require that you pay for placement in search results.

Good Luck

You can use a "what you see is what you get" webpage editor but it still takes time. The fastest is to have a yahoo geocities page but it doesn't look professional. Actually, if I had money I would just hire someone else to make it for me or better yet have a friend do it for you. It takes a lot of time.
