I have heard that if u have sex with woman on top u will concieve a girl and if u have sex 3-4 days before ovulation with no climax. Then if u have sex in missionary position and closer to ovulation or on ovulation u will concieve a boy. I was just curious as to whether or not this has really been accurate for any of u? I am 5 weeks pregnant and HOPING for a girl as i have one boy and one girl already. I had sex 1 day before ovulation with hubby and i was on top with no climax *sorry*...Whatever my baby is I will be happy and blessed but just hoping for another girl..=)

That is just a sad collection of old wives' tales. There is nothing that makes a noticeable difference in the chances of one sex versus the other.
You still have about a fifty-fifty chance of giving birth to a girl even if you had stood on your head hanging from a trapeze while the baby was conceived.

There is some research that seems to prove that the time before or after ovulation has some effect on the sex of the baby but its not an exact science. My wee boy was conceived 3-4 days before ovulation so I dont really think that proves anything!!

The short answer is that the gender of a baby is determined by the male. The chromosomes that determine gender are the "x" and "y" chromosome. A female has two "x" chromosomes and a male has an "x" and a "y" chromosome. All egg cells carry the "x" chromosome, but sperm cells can carry either "x" or "y." If the egg if fertilized by a sperm cell carrying the "x" chromosome, the baby will be a girl. If the sperm is carrying the "y" chromosome, the baby will be a boy.

I was sitting on a washing machine during spin cycle and I conceived a girl. All other times it was missionary position with him on top. I still got a girl.

Just be glad you diddn't do it doggie style... This is an old wives tale and has 0 bearing on the childs sex.

sorry i haven't found a way durring sex to umm..determine the sex of babies lol...i had a daughter..she's 14 months old...i love her to death..some docs say that it depends on the ph level in ur vagina is what determines the sex of your baby...and also how close you are to ovulation...and so on...congrats on your next baby

i've never heard of that, but i have read where it is more difficult to conceive if the woman is on top.

don;t really beleve thos things cuz there not really true, but you just get prepare tho have a beautful baby, and be a great mom
