then why would your god have made people gay? Don't you think that's cruel and sadistic, to say OK yeah you're gay, but you can't have sex! Don't act on your desires!

I don't believe in god or adhere to any religion, I'm just curious to see what kind of responses this question gets.

Dude, have you read the Old Testament? God was a total sadist. He was like the drunk, bipolar uncle who ruins every party, wedding, or graduation. He would destroy cities in a rain of fire, flood the world to exterminate undesirables, turn ladies into salt, torture people just to see how loyal they were, etc. He was as capricious and cruel as any god you'd find in pagan mythology.

And this is probably because he's just a composite of a bunch of pagan gods, but the devout Judeo-Christian folks *hate* it when you point out how relatively young their faiths are, and how they were obviously influenced by the cults that preceded them.

Like, that whole flood thing, and the giant boat? It was done way before Noah. And Christ? So many heroes from so many cultures that came before were reputed to have divine parentage, special powers, the ability to overcome death, etc.

In fact, the whole story of "Christ" was already so played out to the pagans that they asked the early missionaries why they should accept someone else's version of their own tales. "Oh, but this time it's actually true," the missionaries said. "And all those myths that came before were actually planted by the devil early on so people would doubt the Gospel later."

I'm not kidding.

In fundamentalists minds, there are no "gay people"...just straight people having sex with a member of the same sex.
Until this mindset changes, they will never understand.
I knew what I was attracted to when i was 8....yes 8 years old! Knew nothing about sex then, but remember being attracted to guys. They dont get this!
Its unfortunate because right now, people with this mindset are hurting children, and even their own, unknowingly.
So, to answer your question...yes, its a sin in their eyes but thats the way they see and understand it. Perhaps if you are straight and have sex with someone of the same sex, it is a sin. But for someone who is gay and loves someone unconditionally, emotionally and physically, it is NOT a sin. What is the other option? Living a lie with a woman and then destroying yours and her life....just look at the hypocritical nutjob evangelical leader out in Colorado to see a prime example. He is gay, and knows it...and should speak the truth, instead of advancing a lie about it being a chosen lifestyle, while being gay himself. Disgusting.
One day, the extreme funda"mental" churches will apologize for the pain they have caused.
I am at peace with God and myself and nobody, no matter how nutty they are, can tell me otherwise.
Most of these "christians" could learn a lesson in true christianity by following the examples of the gay people I know. Oh, and the ones they do too probably....they just dont know it.

Another question is, "Why do you keep banging your head against a wall trying to defend yourself and justify your nature and actions to people who are incapable of understanding?" Are they really worth it? You must have better things to do with your time and energies.

What you say makes sense to those who already believe and know this to be true. Most others simply enjoy hearing you try so hard to sway them.

But what the heck. Let's try this one more time. Anyone interested in hearing what a devout Baptist minister has to say about "When religion loses its credibility" go here

Being gay is not a sin, nor is having sex inside of any commited relationship.

This is the whole point though, its not that they think that we are like this but sinners, but that we are actually straight and for some crazy reason we decided to go with the same sex.
Deep down they know that it is not the case, but they prefer to fool themselves so their logic will be according to their bible. Its much easier for them to consider it a sodomy and a perversion rather than questioning their book. Go figure.....

Christians are highly confused people who do not want anyone to enjoy life...they fill themselves with stupid dogma and then live a life in guilt when they cannot live up to it. Big deal. You are the wise one, leave well enough alone. Who really cares what Christians say? I certainly do not.

God didn't make people gay, gays made people gay. Its a sexual addiction and you get it from allowing people to do disgusting things to you.

You are going on misinformation due to the gay propaganda that you are born gay. We are not!!!
We are born as infants.
The sexual preference comes later.
Sorry the Truth does not correlate with common gay dogma but there it is.
8 years old is early, but it not BIRTH!!!
