Chronic heartburn is usually from acid reflux - stomach acid is getting past the little valve and into your esophagus. You also should know some natural ways to treat your heartburn. Learn them here https://bitly.im/aM9uX
The most immediate thing you can do is to stop drinking coffee and cola. Smoking is not good either, but that might be harder to stop. Don't over-eat. Don't lie down too soon after eating. Don't burp too much - this carries acid up with the burp.

I am about 5 months preg and have had heartburn for about 2 months now. It helps me if I drink some warm water and lie on my left side. Lying on my right side and lying down imm after a meal usually makes my heartburn worse. Also try to eat 6 small meals through the day, instead of 3 large meals. I also eat lots of yoghurt and try to drink lots of water. I try to avoid TUMS etc, cuz relief is short.

You can use Gravol.
I went to the docs because of nausea during pregnancy, and was prescribed a fifty dollar prescription, only to have the pharmacist tell me that it was basically Gravol, but more costly.
Take some Gravol gel capsules. Check with the pharmacist or call a local nursing hot line to be sure it's safe. Good Luck!

try taking your prenatal vitamin at night if you're not already. the increased iron in it can make you nausous but you don't notice it as much if you are already asleep. i sucked on sour candy alot too and that helped ok. basically if you are going to have morning sickness, you just are. i had it from the time i woke up until i went to sleep at night for three months, then i woke up one morning and was fine and never had it again. hopefully you will be like that too. good luck

When I was pregnant with my daughter I had the same problem. I kept popping the tums and the heartburn never gave up. My doctor told me to stop taking Tums or rolaids. It helped. Never got it back just by taking nothing.

This is a natural program that you can try to cure your acid reflux http://acidreflux.toptips.org
Acid reflux disease, also known as gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD), occurs due to the coexistence of several medical and lifestyle conditions. Physiological factors that trigger GERD include lower esophageal sphincter (LES) hypotonia (the gradual weakening of the LES), along with retrograde flow of stomach contents into the esophagus, and the level of sensitivity of the esophageal mucus to the reflux content.
