if a business removes old steps and replace with new ones and you did not order them are they yours?

old steps removed new ones in place, we tried to find out who delivered them without success. 6 wks later they noted their mistake and want the steps, i want my old ones back. they don't have the old ones any more but will replace with a used one. what do i do?

wow .. was anyone there when they installed the new ones?? I would say that alone is a big factor on weather or not u can keep them, cuz if u knowingly let them install them without then being yours , then I would say that doesnt look 2 good on ur part..
