I know that in the past - if you were confronted with a password (once in windows) simply hit cancel and it should let you in.

I am pretty sure that this "bug" was fixed.

You are lucky that its in Windows and not a DOS password. To get around it - put your Windows XP, NT, 2000, or 98 disk into the CD drive. Restart the computer. Make sure that your CD drive is selected as bootable in BIOS.

Then - simply re install the operating system after formatting the hard drive. You will be left with a brand spanking new operating system and clean hard drive.

There is usually a jumper on the motherboard that will erase passwords on the BIOS, once past that you can start in command prompt only mode, and delete *.pwl from your windows directory
