I think most (if not all) people are somewhat bisexual by nature, and that strong preferences for one or the other sex are likely to be created the same way as any other preference, which is - I am guessing - some natural tendencies strengthened or weakened by cultural influences.
I don't know if preferences have been shown to be partially genetic, but I would guess it's like having talent for certain things - that somehow your DNA might have a tendency towards developing certain neural patterns that are stronger than others, so anything fitting such a pattern might be a "talent" or "preference".

The neocons will say homosexuality is a choice. The radical progressives will say homosexuals are born that way.
I'll offer another theory...
Let's consider that most of the population is hetero (about 98%, see link below). Many straight people really don't accept the gay lifestyle (or at the least they won't celebrate it). Considering how most of society is couples oriented (male/female) and the negative impact of being gay in a straight society, why would a person voluntarily choose that lifestyle knowing how much harder it is to "fit in?"
Has there been a study of gay couple raising children? Do those children have a higher likelihood of being gay than male/female households?

I think that it is a combination of both depending on the will, influence and even genetic make up of the individual.....in other words some are because of influence and some are because of genetic make up....the ones that are raised from birth and were born with a penis but felt like a woman their entire life....born that way and the ones raised as a male born male but raised in a environment with homosexual enfluences...changed and or altered their outcome, at least in some instances.

You aren't born 'gay'. It's can be the environment you're in and the way you are raised that affects your 'sexual identity'. Sometimes, for guys, they move toward homosexuality because of the lack of a strong father figure and they are maybe more snesitive than most guys. Even then, people that feel 'gay tendencies' don't always become gay. Besides, homosexuality doesn't make sense because it isn't natural. If it was natural, than there would be reproduction. So, you're not going to be born with unnatural desires. You're going to be born, like that lady above said, a baby.

i think that all answers and studies are biased on the subject
so i will stick with logic - there has never been a culture or group without homosexuals in recorded history which implies birth
but humans are programmed very strongly to blend in ( even in the unpopular groups ) so in the proper circumstances they could be converted
therefore the LOGICAL answer is C all of the above

they're issues which could basically be stumbled on after hundreds of thousands of trials. and of course, strict limit needs to be in place. besides the undeniable fact that, because of the fact the muse of technology is often changing by new discoveries, we could even have sympathy to the drug employer as nicely. they at the instant are not miracle makers, they only attempt to make earnings by merchandising something that they "think of" could help human beings. think of the international without antibiotics and different medicine, how many human beings might could die? If we agree that technology can get replaced, the drug employer could no longer have an excuse of increasing medicine expenses because of the fact of regulation healthful.additionally if we glance on the different area that has used the socialist gadget it has slowed down and did no longer stay as much as its Utopian promise. No gadget is desirable yet open and unfastened industry is the terrific available.

With exception to rare circumstances involving unknown sexual genders at birth, all people are born with their natural God-given heterosexual identity. I believe it is our society that drives some people to sexually deviant lifestyles such as homosexuality, pedophilia, bestiality, etc. People are not born with an innate urge to lead a sexually deviant lifestyle. God does not create that which is sin. Sin is a result of a chosen behavior.

Yes there are actual scientific studies that DO show that they are born that way. Too much of the hormone estrogen or testosterone was introduced in utero and they are born thinking they are the *wrong sex*. It's both chemical, and environmental, trust me!

From my observations, it can go either way. Some people are born that way. Some become who they are through there environment.
