Everyone know this answer and like to deny the truth. Love like all things fades away. Do you still love each and every person you've have a relationship with? The answer is no. You may have a fond memory or two, but they are the past and you aren't the same person you once were.
Love is like a shark and must keep growing or changing. When people get complacent they start to think "maybe there is more out there" and that is when a relationship ends.
The reason behind Love's need to constantly change and grow is because it is tied to each of us and we all need to change and grow. We grow throughout our lives and when we STOP growing we are then trapped in a meaningless life with no purpose.
Without asking it you have stumbled on the question we all ask of the purpose of life and why are any of us here. The only answer I have found any comfort in is to become the best we can be. I don't know why we have to become the best "me" that we can be, but I do know that for everyone that gives up and stops trying they live miserable lives without hope, while those who continue still have hope and are thus able to continue trying to improve themselves.

True love does not fade, infatuation fades. Infatuation is counterfeit love, a self-centered love that enables a person to feel great and think, "I feel so happy when I'm with ___". True love takes work, but the entertainment industry shows an unrealistic picture of people falling in love and "living happily ever after" in less than two hours.

It can be eternal. It can also fade with time. It depends on the people and the circumstances.

I believe that marriage is a covenant between the two, and real love never fades. You have to constantly work at your marriage, and not allow yourself to become so common with one another. Remember the sparks that you've once felt and ignite them over, and over again. Be spontaneous and always think out the box.

Love fades if it is not fueled. Just like a friendship. It takes work and effort to sustain love.
In other words, don't stop doing the sweet things you do for the one you love just because you know that they love you. To keep a relationship healthy and full of passion, both partners need to consistanly do things to show their loved one that they still think about them while away and to show them that there is still a connection between them.

Love changes with time. If you do not nurture your relationship the love can die. But, in a good relationship as time goes by you get closer and closer even though the excitement may fade. You get security and comfort.

Love is eternal when you love the right person.
I love my husband and children/grandchildren - but all in a different way, yet all unconditionally.
My love for my family grows more and more each year because with time, I appreciate and accept them just as they are...faults and all.
