I gave up years ago but I still resent the nanny intruding further into our lives. If people do not like smoking establishments, they will vote with their feet just as I have.

I can't really see how this ban is benefiting the government, I mean, they will loose a lot of money from all the taxes gained by the cigarettes, also people will be living longer (in theory) and so taking more out of the pensions, and a lot of people once they give up smoking start eating instead, so we will always have a problem. I don't think they thought this through!

Looks like the health fascists have won. Smoker's apartheid (apologies to the South African anti-Apartheid movement) is being implemented. Any other nicotine addicts out there fancy taking part in a mass smoke- in and occupying the offices of the Department of Health on July 1st, 2007? After all it is obviously an infringement of our human right to smoke ourselves to death!

I hope you are not being homophobic!
If you knew anything about what you are talking about you would know that it is smoking in public places, which is being out-lawed i.e. pubs, restaurants, theatres, any place in which there is a public assembly indoors.
Smoking is NOT being banned per se.
Two countries who are well known as heavy smoking countries, the Republic of Ireland and scotland have both introduced no smoking in public places and places of employment. There has been no rioting, protests, people have just got on with it. England will follow suit shortly.

I'm not giving up smoking until I have to. I'm a complete addict sorry to say. If I was ASKED to give them up and not TOLD to give them up then that might be a different story. I don't like to be dictated to by anybody, especially not by the Government. Wait till they ban fat people from Hospitals and drunks and druggies from the streets.

No-ones being forced to give up fags, we just won't be able to do it public places which is fair enough. The law cant stop me from having a cigarette in my own home!

The crackdown on smoking has major spiritual implications. Smoking
clogs the pineal gland, which works with the minds eye, (3rd eye).
Both the forces of good and evil want this crackdown to take place, so they
can use spiritual power to reach us. Nothing will stop it!
