I lost my first born daughter to SIDS in June of 2003, she was almost 5 months old. I joined sidsfamilies and that really helped me. There are othre forums in the sidsfamilies network, like when I became pregnant with subsequent daughter I joined the babiesaftersids group. It has really helped me along with just a lot of research to realize there is nothing you did wrong. There is nothing you can do to prevent it or detect it. My daughter was on her back and we did everything right but it still happened. That is why it is so aggrivating to hear people focus so much on the position of a baby when sleeping, it doesn't matter. My email is shannonmangan@yahoo.com.

My condolensces to you, that must be very hard to deal with,
I am now pregnant and thinking about this god willing my baby's birth goes well.
I'm thinking of having the baby either sleep in the bed with me
or maybe a bassinet, I don't know what I'm going to do but it scares me alot.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have not lost a child, but my heart breaks for you. Life can be very cruel.
