The chairs are on wheels with a center post. Something in side of the post is either broken or loose. My room-mates Son-in-law, daughter, and grand-daughter all set in the chairs at one time. After that the chairs no longer set upright properly. When you set down in them they cause you to lean forward or back. You have to try to balance in them and it's very uncomfortable. I've been looking some place to get them fixed and all I can find are places to get them refinished. I either need someone to repair them or some place to buy the parts to fix them myself. If anyone out there knows of any place, please, let me know. Thanking you in advance!

Did it rock back before all the people sat on it? It sounds like the spring from a rocking mechanism has snapped. you might be able to find a replacement spring some where like your local ACE Hardware. If not, you might be able to pick up a new rocking mechanism that is a close match from Rockler http://Rockler.com
I did a search through their catalog for you and this is what I found:
http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=806
http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=807
Try these and see if either one looks like the hardware mounted under the chair seat. If you are not sure, and there is a Rockler close to you, I would dismantle the chair, and bring in the broken hardware to compare to what they have in the store.
Also, you might check out woodcraft's selection, I prefer their tools over the selection at rockler, but they hasve a smaller selection of hardware:

Hope this helps.
