Giving the fact that our troops are over stretch..if the war continues in Iraq it is not unlikely the draft will be a fact in
America as it was during the Vietnam era ...
You assume that all our troops are Bush supporters or perhaps republicans..forgetting a great many do not want to be there!
Our troops know better than any one else we are in a no win situation.. As far as terrorist are concerned they couldn't care less
what political party ran the country.but my guess they prefer the right wing as they been having no trouble finding volunteers to carry out their evil deeds!

So troops would best be supported if we all slap a yellow ribbon sticker on our bumpers and shut up? Maybe I'm crazy, but I have this feeling that the troops would rather be home with their families in American than dying in Iraq. So, as far as morale goes, I'm sure they would be much happier to know they'll be going home sooner, which will only happen if we as citizens are actively engaged and there is dabate in congress.
And quite frankly, I don't think a terrorist who is willing to blow himself up in a market place has a fear of political parties. Attempting to analyze the situation in such a manner will lead to serious misjudgements. We need to adopt a strategy that is good for Americans and Iraqis, and stop worrying about killing the ideaology of terrorism. It is an impossible task which is more deadly and destructive than terrorism itself. The way to fight terrorism is not through warfare, but instead through improving domestic security. Also, we can cut the funding, which would be alot easier if we weren't so dependent on Mideast oil. In conclusion, your question is a waste of time and focus, serving only to polarize the left and right without seeking any real solutions that would benefit the country as a whole.

"..forgetting a great many do not want to be there!"
Dan, I respectfully disagree with you. Certainly some soldiers don't want to be there, but re-enlistment is up. That means the very people who's lives are at risk in Iraq and Afghanistan obviously believe we're doing the right thing.
I agree with the poster who said they don't really "fear" anyone, but obviously, they'd rather "negotiate" (like you can negotiate with savages who think nothing of killing children) with the Democrats than deal with the Republicans, who are willing to confront them more on their terms. If they didn't think they'd have it made under the Democrats, why all the celebrations when the Dems won this past election?
Just look at how Reagan handled terrorists compared to how Carter did. Clinton gave us 8 years of threaten and retreat policies - now we're dealing with the aftermath. The terrorists view us as weak, and they openly admit they are using our own media against us. Look at the mess with all the fake stories the AP and Reuters gobbled up as gospel truth - now, it appears that their source doesn't even exist. America needs to learn a lesson from our fighting men and women and grow a spine. It would be wonderful if we never had to fight again, but that's naive and foolish thinking. I am concerned that political correctness is going to be the end of us.

Ever for the reason that I even have lived in the States I even have continuously found out that the GOP exchange into more advantageous on protection. The GOP does not scare me yet human beings blowing up homes do. i'd been looking forward to special worry from the middle East for the reason that 1979 whilst Carter "surpassed" Iran over to the Ayatollah. Jihad isn't new and a few have been attempting to warn us for the reason that he early 80's. I voted for Gore and am happy that he did no longer win. He would have been extra worried concerning the environmental harm completed by 911 than approximately the different effects. If the worldwide have been extra non violent i'd in all hazard vote Democrat maximum human beings of the time yet in time of conflict i'm going to in all hazard vote GOP maximum human beings of the time. The democrats are to "fluffy". They prioritize in keeping with what they think of the worldwide could be like quite than in keeping with chilly harsh actuality.

People constantly say that Iraq is a no-win situation, but what about the "drug war"? Does anyone actually believe for a second that we can stop illegal drug trafficking? NO, but yet no one wants to just say, OK dope dealer, go ahead and sell snow down my street; we'll never win anyway. Of course not, because that puts us at risk. Not so in Iraq, those are people "over there", so we should just leave them to the wolves.

At the risk of getting bogged down in semantics, I believe they "fear" no one. They prefer to see the Dems in power because they are much weaker and more naive than the Repubs.

They fear Republicans more. All the Democrats want to do is talk to them. How do you reason with terrorists? PLO and Hamas said if Israel gave back Gaza they would stop the bombings and missile attacks.
So Israel removes it's people from Gaza and give it back to the PLO and Hamas. Has either Hamas or the PLO stooped the suicide bombing or missile attacks?
