I know this sounds kinda silly and I wasen't going to ask .
Here is a semi short version of what is happening I moved into this new apartment like 2 months ago with my 12 month old son and husband , we have never had any problems yet besides our bedroom always smell like somebody just smoked a fresh ciggarette we both don't smoke its just kinda weird and it happens alot. We keep the door closed all day to keep my son out so it really hits you in the face when you walk in . The other thing that has been happening is the window is open now when I go into the room. I brushed it off a few times but now that my husband is away fishing for 14 days I walked into the bedroom last night to go to bed and it was open again it freaked me out and I slepted on the couch. The window is little bit hard to open being a historical house and is on the 2nd floor. I just could be overaggerating something that's not that big a deal thanks

You are living with a ghost. The home I grew up in also has a ghost in it. It liked to move things around. I'm not talking about moving things over night, I mean set your drink down on the dining room table, walk into the living room and turn around, walk back in the dining room, and the drink would be back in the kitchen in the sink. It would also open and close the back door. I had a touch lamp in my room and it would come on all by itself. It would turn our swivel rocker all the way around and it would rock in our rocking chair. I have a feeling it was/is a woman because when something weird would happen, I'd smell flowers. Maybe a perfume she always wore. Anyway, your ghost was probably a chain smoker. If you think about it, the ghost has been there for god knows how long and you just moved in there not too long ago. He could possibly be thinking, who are these people in my house and why do they keep closing my window. You could research the history of the building and see if anyone died in there, but ghosts don't limit themselves to the exact spot where they died, he could have died on the land before the home was built or on the street or close by. If you don't want him there, acknowledge him and tell him he's dead (because alot of them don't realize that), to go home and move into the light. Or tell him if he's not ready to go home, to stop opening the window because...it's cold, it's noisy, etc. and that you're willing to coincide together as long as he behaves. Another thing you might want to watch for (not in a bad way), watch to see if your son is trying to communicate with him. See if your son watches a certain spot and coos and giggles. My daughter did that up until she was about three. She'd sit on the floor, look up at nothing, and babble and coo and giggle. Anyway, don't be scared. Tell him to stop opening your window and tell him not to smoke around your son. He can't hurt you, just remember that.

Weird, sounds like you might have a ghost who used to be a smoker!

You should see if you can research the history of your house, find out who used to live there. Check into your local library or county records department to see what you can find.

I saw this show about hauntings once, and there was a story on there of a hotel where the smell of cigarettes was very strong in one room. They believed that there was a woman who haunted the room.

Strange....do you live upstairs? The smoke smell could be coming through vents or a shared hallway (this happened at my old apartment). As far as the window goes, it could be that the top part has come off the track and no longer can stay up on it's own (typical of older windows).

If you're going to have breast milk at the drive up window, you've got to serve some cookies or brownies to go along with it. I can't drink milk unless I've got something to dunk in it.
