Everytime I see the park police on the road I want to blow by them, but I wonder if they can pull me over?!?

Why would you want to blow by any cop?
Most park police are state or county employed. They will have authority in the jurisdiction that they are employed. "X" county park police work in X county parks, but generally can pull you over anywhere in X county. When you see them on the road outside a park they are probably coming/going to work, travelling between parks or going out for lunch. probably don't want to waste time pulling you over, but you're taking a chance.
Try it and find out!

The beginnings of the park police: UNITED STATES PARK POLICE AUTHORITY AND JURISDICTION

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The United States Park Police is America's oldest federal uniformed law enforcement agency with origins dating to the establishment of the seat of government in the District of Columbia. In 1791, President George Washington called for "Park Watchmen" to be provided by the United States Government for services in and around the public squares and reservations in the new Federal city. They were given "the same powers and duties as the Metropolitan Police" in the District (August 5, 1882, 22 Stat 243, chapter 389). In 1919, Congress renamed the Park Watchmen "United States Park Police" (December 5, 1919, 41 Stat. 364, chapter 1, section 3).

Many states use this same idea to establish state park police with some or all of the powers of the federal park police. In Oklahoma the Park Police are members of the highway patrol and carry the same authority as they do.

People think certain agencies only have authority in certain areas, and in some cases that may be true. But they all have radios and the authority to stop and hold you for whoever has the authority in the area you are breaking the law in.

I'm close to the Texas state line, speeders will try to outrun Oklahoma assuming they are 'safe' if they get to Texas. They aren't.

So the answer is, yes, they can pull you over. Sometimes they can write the ticket, other times they wait for someone else to do so, but yes, they can and will pull you over.

Also most of the time they have absolute authority both in the park and the roads leading to and from the park, and sometimes even a few miles of the state highway that is close by.

If they are real Police and not just "Rent -a -Cops", they can indeed pull you over for speeding.

I wouldn't take the chance..if the vehicle they are driving says Park Police.... yep! they're Police.
If the vehicle is marked as Park Security, they wouldn't be allowed to pull you over if you are not driving in the park.
Slow down and good luck.

Usually, yes you can. Park Police are usually regular police or even state troopers that have the assignment of said specific park. As a rule of thumb, police are police are police. There are VERY FEW instances where a member of law enforcement CANNOT arrest you for breaking the law.

I got a speeding ticket from a Park Ranger. I wasn't in a park. I was on a road that ran in front of a state park. This was in Florida.

Nope, "park police, park rangers" are just what they are. They have no jurisdiction outside of the park. You don't have to slow down or do anything for them unless you are inside the park.

Yep, I agree with Brian, police are police. Besides, even if they couldn't stop you, they could easily call in to the local police and have you stopped. Good rule of thumb: Never taunt a cop!
