It didn't work for me and it tasted horrible - I tried mixing it with Raspberry Leaf (strenghtens your uterus for better contractions and helps aide in getting back to the pre-pregnancy shape that it had) and also with some Lemon Zinger (the box said to add lemon juice or honey, I chose a lemon tea) and it was terrible.
I'm 39 weeks tomorrow and still pregnant. I've been drinking tea's for a week now but still no baby - although I'm at 4 cm now so that's encouraging! It could be because of the tea or because I've been walking a lot lately.
The best mixture for the Black Cohosh is to mix it with the Blue Cohosh, but that was so horrible that I ended up sick to my stomach - if it tastes that bad, I can't justify drinking it just so that I can finally hold my son

DONT DO IT.
I have a background in herbalism and when I was pg I wouldn't even do it except under supervision. I did NOT use it.
My midwife stopped using blue cohosh (and Black) because it can cause bleeding problems.
Improperly dosed blue cohosh can cause complications. Don't risk it.
Take evening primrose oil in the last weeks of your pg, it'll soften your cervix. castor oil is also useful, but it won't work until your body is ready to go into labor. and it'll give you the runs.
Red raspberry leaf tea (herbal) is safe to use, it tones the uterus. (It also makes even the worst of menstrual cramps go away.)
I induced my labor at the end of week 39 via accupuncture, and I was in labor the next day.
Good luck!

actually its blue cohosh not black :) black cohosh root is used to treat symptoms of menopause.....when your pregnant blue cohosh can be used to induce labor. I was 37 weeks pregnant with my now 4 year old and i was having bleeding spells, the OB thought the placenta was pulling away from the wall. I mentioned to him the possibility of trying some blue cohosh and he told me that was fine to try as it is all natural and has a long history of benifits i tried it, and 2 days later i had my son :) GOODLUCK but MAKE SURE you talk to your dr before trying it.....! and ask the natural health shop as well.
Ill write about blue cohosh, from "The Green Pharmacy"
Blue cohosh-Several years ago a chemist came out to a herbal vineyard with his wife, who was close to full term and ready to bear fruit. she said she wanted to get it over with and asked what i recommended. I told her if she wanted to speed up labor to try blue cohosh.American Indians used Blue Cohosh to induce labor, and with good reason. This plant contains the compound caulosaponin a powerful stimulant of contractions. Suggest using 20-30 drops of blue cohosh tincture to induce labor.
This book also says eating parsley is a good way to induce labor

Never heard of it - but labor will start when baby is good and ready and not before. You should just be patient and wait, it'll all be worth it in the end
