1GB holds 240 songs. Now this depends on the bitrate and quality of the songs which mean how whether they are CD quality or not. But if you will be downloading from Itunes you will get 240 songs. The Shuffle rocks by the way. Great purchase.

This would store up to 240 songs. It depends on the length of your songs. The longer songs you have the less songs that the shuffle is going to hold. The shorter the songs the more it would hold. If you have 200 songs averaging 3 minutes a piece, this would hold about 10 hours of songs.

At a near-cd quality, it's about 1 MB for 1 minute of music. 1 GB is 1000MB, so about 1000 minutes or about 16 hours.

Now, the songs may be a higher quality, so it could be only around 10 hours.

Looking around, songs from iTunes are CD-quality or better, so expect between 8-10 hours.
