What is the next release date for the Wii in the United
States?

There's only one US release date, afterwords, individual stores will get new shipments at ther own scedual.

I wouldn't expect the Wii to launch any earlier than October, probably in November, as you said. However, the suggested $299 price originated in a descriptiong to a 7-Eleven contest that would end in someone winning a Wii. It is very possible that 7-Eleven ramped up the price a bit to make winning the console seem more worthwhile (or just simply could have guessed). Nintendo has already said they wish to launch the Wii at "no more" than $250.

If you live by a Wal-Mart... then good news: Wal-Mart will be re-launching the Wii this Wednesday, December 6, 2006!!!
If you happen to have a Wal-Mart that is open 24 hours, then I highly recommend you go to the store on Tuesday night (12/05/2006).
We already purchased the Wii on Sunday's original launch, but we now need extra wiimotes and numchuks... which have also been sold out everywhere!
So I will be going to Wal-Mart on Tuesday, and I plan to get all vigilant on them too... I'm going to call the "electronics" department at 3pm, 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, 9pm, 10pm... to check if there is a line forming yet, if there is... I'm going there asap! I suggest you do the same if you really, really want a Wii this year.
