I'm not a HP fan, but I am a LOTR fan, so I know that reading (good) fan-fiction can be enjoyable. BUT If she spends all of her time reading and/or writing fan fiction, to the point that other areas of her life are becoming neglected (chores, family, friends, job) then I'd say she has an unhealthy obsession. If that's the case, ask her to devote a limited amount of time to the fanfiction- such as, maybe an hour or two a day. But remind her that there are other things in life she needs to care about too, and that the fan fiction isn't going anywhere while she's away from it.
If she just does it for fun and its not affecting other areas of her life, let her have her interests and don't complain. It may be her 'escape' from the harshness of reality. Could it be that you simply think she's being childish, or 'nerdy'? If that's the case, then you're the one with the problem.
good luck!

Ah I love harry potter fan fiction too but stopped reading those stories quite a long time ago. It's a phase that will pass. Maybe you should distract her with other good books like The Time Traveler's Wife, a really amazing and poignant love story or you might try other fantasy-themed books.

If you can`t beat the enemy.. join the enemy..
start reading harry potter books.. who knows you might stop judging you wife.. and having a common thing to talk about migh even enrich your marriage....
besides.. there are only seven books.. six so far... how much time an can you dedicate to being a HP fan? I mean I'm one of those people who calls in sick at work. until i finish reading the book.. and that is only one or two days of my whole existence..
PATIENCE man... and get hobby of your own instead of trying to tear hers apart.

it is better so it will get her off it easily but then again u might have her reading 24/7
but her hobbies are important so talk to her or maybe dress up as harry and have a little midnight role-playing XD

Don't do that! Harry Potter's cool... not to me, but there are tons of fans out there. Just let her do her thing and don't get in the way of her personal interests.

Let her be, and stop controlling! It could be worse! She COULD be into male models, male porn, or an all out affair, alcohol and / or drug addiction, etc...be thankful Harry Potter fiction is all you have to worry about

Why bother? A book is over when you have finished reading it, let her finish reading it. You sound jealous. And controlling. Two very very bad traits in a husband. Divorce worthy traits.
What on earth even gives you the inkling of an idea that you have, in any way, any rights or input at all regarding what she reads?
Tread lightly and hope she doesn't forbid you from reading the sports page, or watching sports on TV. Get over yourself. This type of behaviour, on your part, is addictive. You definitely don't want to be one of those moron cavemen who start to believe they are in charge of another person, do you?

Um, remind her she's an adult. Obviously if you are upset with her, she must be spending a lot of time on there. Talk to her, tell her you appreciate her hobbies and you both need your alone time to pursue your own interest but no at the expense of interfering with your marriage. Then work up a compromise, because that is what marriage is all about.
