The first part refers to the wrong done by some astrologists and other diviners, predicting something bad to happen. Our mind creates what we believe in. Thus in a way, they are inviting the predicted wrong to our life and can be said to do the devil's work--not the signs of zodiac, not the planets, but the sign readers--the diviners--you can believe it or not but it says it in the Bible. We hear, see, and we believe what we want to believe an that is a fact too; for example, an anorexic person does see in the mirror and believes a distorted image, not the real-emancipated one. Zodiac signs and horoscopes are, I believe, a frivolous form of entertainment. They are based on the ACTUAL science of astronomy. The Devil doesn't control the movement of the planets. The idea of telling your fate by looking at the night sky is very ancient, and like all abstract concepts, it is open to interpretation by the humans who attempt to make sense of it. If the person writing the horoscope is an optimistic type, it's going to sound like good stuff.

I don't bother reading horoscopes anymore because I think they're all boring. I think it's foolish of people to use, as their guide to life, the zodiac rather than personal morals and ethics.

Yes during the mass conversion to the biblical religions alot of pagan beliefs/offshoots were believed to be of the devil; magic, polythiesm, and other ways of connecting to paranormal and the such. however Astrology was not labled among those listed so it really depends .. on how you see Astrology as a study and how you interpret the bible's views on such stuff.

and yes Astrology does stem from paganism. the planets and there meanings are usualy directly from roman mythology (sometimes greek). and it was the current belief system when it was also considered a big time study. It has alot of history. and relations to many belief systems through out the years. it was even believed that the three wise men during the nativity story were astrologers seeing a triple conjunct in Pisces. but alot of it is up to speculation.

Yea if you read your horror scope it gives a very vague and general idea of what is going to happen to most people. However I have known people who have gotten degree's in astrology so there is a definite science to it. Jung was someone who did contribute to the world of astrology and his other work has still lived on through the ages. He was a disciple of Freud. It is interesting stuff but that is as far as I think is should be taken just as interesting stuff. Whether or not the devil is involved in it is totally up to your belief. Astrology has it's roots in Mythology and back when the Greeks where leaving their mark on the world they believed in Mythology just like the Christians believe in God.

Come to think of it horoscopes are a little....evil....but to my surprise ppl seem to always find good, positive things about it.

This is not true. It does not tell me what I want to hear. I'm a Virgo and if you watch the Virgo for a few days, no one wants to hear that stuff all the time. So, NO, the zodiac signs are not written by the devil. They are written by the stars, the horoscopes every day are accumulated messages by alignment of the stars.

In all of life - concerning our relationship with God (defined as the ultimate truth) - we all only hear what we want to hear.
There is no doubt that astrology is used by some as an excuse to not take personal responsibility to pursue and become one with the ultimate truth. But unfortunately every other facet of life here on earth can and are used as a similar hurtle.
