Your question intrigues me. First of all, from where in NY? NY is a big state! I tried doing some searches, and came up with nothing. Then I thought to try Google Earth. I drew a line from my hometown in NY to right about where it looked like the North Pole is, and asked it to measure the line. I got 3,589 miles.
