Depends on the positions of the people involved. Is one a supervisor of the other, or are they on an equal footing?

You not only have to worry about impropriety, but even the appearance of impropriety.

It goes without saying (but I'll say it anyway): Keep personal matters to personal time, and if the relationship tanks...you still need to be professionals in the workplace.

Workplace romances are absolutely so much fun and very exciting. Who cares if its the workplace. The part of trying to be discrete and secretive is the best part.

Not necessarily unethical but not a good idea. What happens when the romance ends and you a stuck working with that person? That can be very uncomfortable and you can lose your job.

Maybe not unethical, unless you two are otherwise attached. But unprofessional and inappropriate quite possibly. There are some people who can make them work out and not compromise their work, and be mature about it if the relationship doesn't work out, but I have met very few of these people myself.

Are you in the same department?
Is he/she your boss or superior? <--Most companies frown upon that- Favortism and all that crap.
Otherwise I say bang away!
