Good morning honey
Please get up from bed
No ones around today
Even the neighbors have fled
I spent all day yesterday
Preparing my hole and decorating it
In hopes you’ll take that pole of yours
And finally make it fit
Now I know your pole is very big
And by standards my hole is rather small
I’m sure today you’ll get it in
If you’ll give to it your all
Take off everything in that’s in the way
Especially that cotton T
Please hurry before the sun comes up
And place that pole for me
I’ll hold it tight even though it is thick
my legs I’ll even spread
So that you may shove it in
And ease all the fears I dread
That’s it honey push real hard
Pound it if you need
Add moisture if you think that it will help
And do your promised deed
I know your face is breaking sweat
Your breath is coming fast
Push in harder if you must
For a while it will have to last
That’s it love it’s going in
Sink it all the way
Mind me not if I scream
For happiness has come my way
To my pleasure you got it in
You’re one hell of a caring spouse
To put that pole within my hole
So I can place my new birdhouse

Cement is a bad idea. What if you want to get your pole out again because it's not in right?
Actually I think you really need a rod, not a pole. And some washing line. If your wife had a rod and some of that whippy line I think you'd soon stop worrying about losing your clothes.
And as for wind, once you're secure that'll stop bothering you too.

i think you should get an extension if tiis not long enough, cant you put the clothes on the radiators, it would be alot better saves you going out in the cold but if you do put the pole in the hole i recomend you dig deep and secure firmly with quick dry cement

You might want to get that ring and set it in the hole just right so that the cement wlil settle around it and make a nice base, then progressively work your way up and down and keep that cement wet, your pole should stand erect for a while.

1/3 of the pole should be underground. Put about Three 80lb bags of concrete in the holes. If you really want to be on the safe side, you can also put anchors with wire rope to the poles. Remember wet clothes are very heavy.

Always use cement and remember to tie it off with some lengths of rope. Then, I guess, just hope for the best.

Sell the pole, fill the hole, and buy her a tumble drier. It's always wet this time of year anyway.
