At the end of the movie, we see a picture of a gathering, in which a young man like like Jack is seen.
What does it mean ?

I interpreted it as that the hotel like, took over him and hes in that picture now because the hotel took his soul? It sounds so dumb but I loved that movie, i've seen it like 5 times and I still can't figure it out either, but thats my guess!

It isn't clear, but I think that it could mean that Jack is now part of the Hotel. the book says that the hotel's burned and Jack dies inside it. In the film, he appears freezed.

He was a part of the hotel, since the date on the photo was long ago...

He may have been fated to this place and "placed" in the picture as though he had always been part of the staff

That like Grady told him, he always WAS the caretaker. His spirit is linked to the hotel.

It means that he got caught up in the madness of the hotel and now he's one of them.
