That depends if your daughters show any intrest in video games. if not, go for somthing else intierly. (502, please note that the ages given where 5 and 7) The mario sieries are good, MarioKart, Mario tenis, mario strikers, super mario sunshine ect. But really, any E rated game will be good, maybe even K-A if you can find one.

Well, as of now it will probably be cheaper than a Wii, although the Wii is going to make the Gamecube obsolete. Nintendo is going to stop producing games for it.
If you still want to get it, I'd recommend:
Pikmin
Animal Crossing
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle
Super Smash Bros. Melee
any Mario Party title

The gamecube is a good system I would say. I would buy games like Super Monkey ball, it's slightly hard but my little girl cousins love that game. Any game that's real bright is usually a good pick. And what you might do is take them to like Walmart or someplace like that since they usually have systems set up and see if they like to play it.

Do they want it? When my two girls were younger we got them the then hot new Nintendo 64. They were never really into it, any boys that came over (cousins mostly) were glued to it, but the girls just weren't into it.
The only games they ever really played were a mario cart racing thing and an easy game based on the Nickelodeon rug rats cartoon. They never touched any of the more involved games we had - like Banjo Kazooie (sp?).
Some girls are into video games, but from my experience most aren't.

Well some girls don't like it but if you have any sons make sure they don't play it often because then they can get addicted to it trust me that happened to my brothers.
