I remember I started to read Goosebump's books when I was in 4th grade which feels like ages ago. Anyway is it still popular for kids or is there another horror genre of books out that took Goosebump's place.

Hi there, wow, Goosebumps! I used to love reading those, and Fear Street. LOL I worked at Barnes and Noble not too long ago, and I would always get requests for them, so I'm assuming if they aren't very popular, they are still getting asked about so they are still selling.

Many schools no longer allow them in the school libraries- I've seen them on the 'banned books' list. I guess the 'politically correct' idiots think that they're too scary. That makes me mad- I loved Goosebumps as a kid, and I read them all more than once. They're one reason I write my own fiction today... so I must say that no, they're not popular- but that's not the fault of the books, because they are GREAT books for kids. Blame the schools.

I do not know how how old you are but they are still popular at the daughter my daughter attends. I know for a fact because Ididvoluntary reading with her class and nearly every child had a Goosebump Book that they were reading. Made for boring reading time.Harry Potter and Deltora series are popular.

Yes,Goosebumps books are still a popular choice of pre-teens,now people of other age groups thinks its total kids stuff and hence more mature versions of R.l Stine's work like Fear Street series are the rage ,thanks to a variety of titles to read.
However, fiction has become a crowded circuit with soo many authors flooding the market,so much that R.L Stine is facing a stiff competition to grow more varied and innovative in his writing.Michael Crichton,Stephen king are more better bets if you never want to put the book down for a long time, take RL Stine if ya want a quick read to while away time !

Nope the franchise dropped out in about 2003. Meaning they stopped producing and selling the books. Now a days its all about Harry potter. To my knowledge I don't think there is any child aimed horror books out there. But I am 22 and I read Steven King, and I don't really shoot for kids novels anymore.
