If you need a 4x4, a Fire bird is a bad choice. However, If you just want something to drive, a Fire Bird will be the better investment.

What type of Chevrolet 4X4..there are tons of models that incorporate 4x4 in them...That's like asking the question would you like to buy a Corvette or a car with an automatic transmission. Not to mention the fact that you couldn't pay me to own a Pontiac ever again nor would I purchase another GM product period.

Well this depends on where you are living, lol. There is no new firebird as of yet, and as someone else mentioned firebirds are horrible in the snow. If you live in a warm climate year round, get the firebird. But if you have 9 months of coldness definately buy a 4x4. Or you can get the best of both worlds; try to fing a GMC Cyclone or GMC Typhoon. They are 4 wheel drive and extremely fast- quicker than any firebird and you could if you wanted to drive it in the snow. Not deep snow but snow none the less.

02 Firebird is the newest one in production no newer models are for sale.
I have a 02 Firebird TA and a 98 chev 4x4 and they are two of the most favorite cars I have owned. I loved my wrangler but the truck is much more practical.
Do you see yourself actually using the 4x4?
If not I would go for the car they are a blast especially the TA 5.7 LS1(big engine option).

Both. That new firebird is going to be amazing. Rumored 400+hp...sweeeet. However up here in minnesota you have to own a 4x4. Thats why we are getting the new silverado. Tis gunan be hard to beat that thing in the Full size truck market. However, i have to mention, Maybe u should look at say oh a 1969 Camaro RS/SS 427?

It depends on where you live. 4x4 or all wheel drive if you have alot of bad weather. If you live where it's mostly sunny, then get the car. Don't just buy it to be "cool", buy it because YOU like it. Also check your insurance on the difference between the two. Drive them both for at least 20 miles before making any decisions. Try different dealers with the same models to try and get a better deal.

I prefer 4x4 but if I had more open roads around me where I could actually take advantage of the speed I would go with the firebird

I have owned several Chevy / GMC Z71 pickups and they are great for off road. My latest is a 2000 GMC Sierra Z71 and it kicks ***, on and off road. There are no new firebirds, Pontiac stopped production after 2002 as Chevy stopped the Camaro. If u really wanted the car check out the 2008 Camaro's, they should go on-sale next year. I would prefer a 2007 Chevy / GMC pickup Z71, they r nice.

They are both great vehicles but if you speed and style, go with the Firebird. It is also good on gas, if driven "properly." If ya wanna stand tall, can afford the gas and go off-roading, get the Chevy. Me personally, get a 'Bird and guys will drool all over you!
