Yeah, I hadn't really thought about it until you mentioned it. I don't have kids and I don't celebrate Christmas so I don't have to worry about it. But if all of those things were different, I probably would feel a little weird about it... I don't care that he can't do anything with me right there... is he using it as material for later on when he's alone?
Oh yuck. Even tho I don't celebrate it or whatever, I'd like to have some faith that the majority of these Santa's are decent people who would never use something this innocent for their own kind of jollies.

No, I think it's cute and fun. My son is 14 months, and we will be taking him soon. If you are so creeped out by it, go have a family member dress up and have your children sit on his lap then. Did you sit on Santa's lap as a child? I did. I know I loved telling Santa what I wanted for Christmas.

No I am not creeped out because I am right there, and I warn my kids to not do that unless I am there EVEN with Santa because there are some bad Santa's and only Mommy and Daddy can tell the difference. When they ask why only Mommy's and Daddy's can....I specify no ONLY the childs own Mommy or Daddy can because that's a gift I got for Christmas when I had you and you too will one day have it when you have kids....Keeps it exciting and they have that to look forward to! Keeps it fun I guess...but that's just me! But good question!

Parents are so overprotective about that. They shouldn't worry bout anything. What's the guy gonna do? He's just gonna ask the kids simple questions and get a picture taken. Santa will only bounce his knee sometimes or pat their leg, or if the kid wants a hug, Santa will hug them. He's not doing anything sexual. If I had a child, I would always feel they are same with Santa.

Well I see your concern but when you have kids ( I have 3) the sight of santa is the world to them; and for them to sit on his lap and tell him what they want is really the best sight. I guess it's really up to you.. but remember there are 1000's+ kids do it every year and nothing bad happens.

Sometimes I am, there are so many perverts out there- one of them is probably a Santa. But I bite back my lack of trust for people and do it anyway. There something so innocent about a child believing in Santa, I couldn't deny her the few years she has of it.

Oh, yes!. You are right! I remember sitting on a Santa's lap when I was a little girl! I hated it.
People are so insensitive to children.
And, Santa's should be seen and not heard.
Thank you for your thoughts. Oh, yes.... and Merry Christmas!

Yes, actually. I don't care how much my kid would like Santa, they wouldn't do that with a cop, would they... not if I have anything to say about it. I'd be like... standing next to Santa the whole time if my kid were on his lap... if I had a kid...

I think santa in general is creepy! We don't do the santa thing here. We believe that Jesus is the reason for the season and that lying to your children and telling them there is a santa is wrong.
Just my opinion!
