People used the stars to navigate before they had compasses. They also believed that the stars could be used to tell the future through astrology. And some cultures had myths about how the constellations got up there in the first place.

Originally before astrology, it was called the star gospel. It was how the early people knew the story of God. There are 48 constellations that tell the story. This was back before the bible and laws were given to man. It was an age of conscience.

Eventually different belief systems turned the constellations into their own stories and a prediction system.
