I know that the 30 individual flags on the trophy represent the 30 MLB teams, but does each flag show a team name? If so, is there any particular order in which the flags are arranged on the trophy?

yes, each flag does have every individual team's name on it. starting from the back of the trophy, the NL and AL champs are the first flags and stand the tallest, followed by the league's teams in descending order. so they are listed in order of finish. this year's trophy would have the cardinals followed by the mets then san diego then los angeles and so on down the line.

it's a beautiful trophy that visually shows the status of each club over the course of that season.

don't believe these guys that say they're looking at pics of the trophy online and that there aren't names on the flags. it is a FACT that the teams are named on the flags. I have viewed the 1981 world series trophy won by the l.a. dodgers and held it in my hands and have seen the teams engraved on the flags in descending order of finish. the trophy has not changed and still has the teams engraved. the winning team keeps the trophy each year, so it's not major league baseball giving the same trophy out every october and having to move the flags.

the pics of the trophy that are onlne don't get in and show the detail at all. they just give you the big picture of how it looks, but not the individual flags.

i can't believe i have gotten a thumbs down already. someone is a hater and/or doesn't know their stuff.

KP is right - the flags do show team names.

Here's a picture of the generic trophy, where you can clearly see names on the flags:

Ask anyone who's ever seen it up close, and they'll tell you the same. Here are past trophies for the Jays and Pirates, both of which contain the names on the flags. They are especially obvious on the second one:

When Boston won the World Series in 2004 they brought the trophy to every city and town in Massachusetts. Folks were allowed to touch it, take pictures next to it, etc.

My daughter and I went. I honestly didn't remember until I checked all our pictures and I see no insignia on any of the flags.

It is an impressive trophy. It was interesting watching some fans get teary-eyed over it. It was an interesting and poignant time. There were a lot of people buying Red Sox World Series gear to place at grave sites as a way of sharing the win with folks who hadn't lived to see it in their lifetime.

I just looked at a closeup of a photo I took of the 2004 trophy when it came to Maine. There are no etchings or symbols, letters, etc. of any kind on the flags.

There's nothing on the flags. TIffany recasts a new trophy every year. If you hit the Wikipedia site it gives you all sorts of info. But the guy who says the team names are on it couldn't be more wrong.

The top of the base is etched like a baseball. Email Tiffany and they'll send you a fact sheet on it.

impressive diagnosis. Sri Lanka also had an negative run in attempt cricket in previously days. sure 4-27 became extra useful than 3-sixty 3. i imagine 1 substantial situation with Bangladesh is they play lot of ODIs and T20's comparing to attempt suits at the moment, So their shorter version approach is one reliable clarification for his or her inconsistency in checks. it really is a barrier for them to be a minimum of an person-friendly attempt taking section in usa. they are way lower than person-friendly there. an really exciting stat that hostile to perfect 8 cricket countries purely, their ODI record plunges to twenty out of 152. so that they truly gained fifty 2 ODI suits hostile to minnows! besides they are extra useful quicker or later unit for sensible. yet they favor to initiate triumphing outdoors abode. Sir Lanka became also properly-referred to as a crew who does properly purely at abode for 10 years in view that their attempt debut. yet they broke the shackles on 1994 by defeating the international champion Pakistan and WI at Sarjah to win a trination adventure observed by a international cup win the position they performed QF, SF and the stunning outdoors abode (nevertheless in sub continent) It took even extra years for SL to win some tournaments out aspect the sub continent. average it took SL about 15+ years to be a very consistent crew. Sri Lanka had a win-loss make sure of four-27 out of fifty 5 checks yet now they replaced the large style in to something like 60 wins and 70 losses in checks. Bangladesh gamers are problematical workers so that they were given the will. All i will say is purely provide them yet another 5 years and enable's see they could develop those figures. They made their attempt debut on 2000. So purely 12 years have lengthy gone. in case you seem at India and South Africa it took them way better than 12 years to be consistent communities. i comprehend that at the moment very few cricket suits were performed compared to perfect away. besides 12 years isn't an really lengthy era so Bangladesh ought to receive bit extra time to educate themselves.
