I am looking for free s&p earnings data for every quarter since early 1900's. Please provide a link for such a data.

Your question is extremely vague. For one thing, there are hundreds of S&P indexes. For another, you don't indicate whether you are talking about earnings data for each company in an index, or just an aggregate for the index itself.

I'll assume you mean the S&P 500 index. The S&P 500 as we know it was only established in 1957.

Go to Yahoo Finance. Click on the S&P name. go to historical prices and run the quarterly numbers for as far back as they will go.
