develop a way for a blind person to distingush the different denomations of paper money, I think this could be done by placing some type of brail or another identifing mark somewhere on the bill. Do you know of other countries that do this?

Many European countries have different sizes to correspond to the denominations. All the money accepting and dispensing machines in the U.S. are designed for one size. It would be very expensive to change. Brail or other raised places on our money would wear off with age. Other things like rounded edges So its a real problem.

They are doing it in Canada. I seen it and felt it on the new bills and I think it is about time too..All countries should be aware of a persons needs, and it is in the interest of all people too, not just the blind. Honesty will prevail.

I remember hearing that Australia has paper currency that is distinguishable to sight impaired folk, but could not find anything on it. This is being addressed now though, so expect changes in the future.

The treasury department is in the middle of doing that right now. A federal court just ordered them to.

Many counties do that (Canada included) and I remember hearing that thier is a movement for America to follow suit.

Most European countries have different sizes for different denominations. Or at least did. Been a while since I've traveled........
