No doubt he wants to see Iraq a democracy, I don`t think it`s as much for the people as it is for economic reasons though. But right now I think he is more committed to trying to save face and come out of this not looking like such a dumb-ss

I think so, it's always been an everchanging thing but I think he knows what he's doing it's the media that has done what it did in VietNam and that is to destroy the support of the people. I don't see him pulling the troops out for awhile or this whole thing will be a waste. But I think he'll lean hard on them to get control. It isn't easy with the 3 factions so different to do so.

Bush and commitment are a hard thing especially to read in the same sentence. But he only suggests to a party of people who help him with his flighty decisions. I hope so though, but it has to be a slow process! Have a great day!

I think he is committed to seeing the Iraqi government in place and set as strong as possible before his time in office runs out. If he doesn't start entertaining new strategies, it will be harder to do. Based on my preference, ramping up the effort is called for. More soldiers, more hardware and locking the borders till the government has had a chance to be set in place and operating. If we are going to do this, then let's do it and stop piddling around.
