400,000 people have died in Darfur since 2003. Thousands more are starved, tortured, or displaced from their homes. Women and children are raped daily, and the men beaten and killed. Despite passing peacekeeping resolutions authorizing more forces to stop the violence, the UN has failed to act. The Sudanese government his refusing to cooperate and allow the international community to help. Why is it that when Iraq refuses to cooperate, the U.S. takes preemptive action, but when thousands of innocent civilians are slaughtered, we turn a blind eye? This is MURDER, people!! Call or write the President and your congressmen and tell them to demand peacekeeping forces be deployed immediately! Every person that speaks up can make a difference and perhaps stop this senseless genocide.

I was sort of curious myself on this issue. Saw an ad on tv trying to raise awareness of the issue but not seeing much about it in the other media outlets. Sadly the news seems to prefer to cover the Britney Spears non-issue than cover the massacre of thousands.

I do have to agree however that the US shouldn't have to be the one to start the relief. The liberal bedfellow US supposedly is doing something so not sure why the focus is on us the US public and not towards the UN blowhards hmmmm maybe they are the ones that won't profit?

I do understand your feelings, but Americans should take care of home first, and after that then we can try to help others. There are starving and homeless children right here in America. As for Iraq, Bush was wrong and he should bring our troops home. I do fill sorry for the people of Darfur but we can't go over there and fix everything and the American Citizens foot the bill. If they pay us for this well then maybe. We send foreign aid all around the world and we have to solve their problems to, come on. If America would sometimes mind her own business then maybe so many people around the world would not hate us. I will remember the people of Darfur in my prayers.

To all of you saying the US isnt helping because we have nothing to gain SHUT IT! In Bosnia there was nothing for us to gain and we stopped the genocide against muslims. I agree we need to do more but dont place the blame entirely on the US. What about Europe? Its their backyard not ours. The USA damned if we do, damned if we dont.

I hate to sound pessimistic and tell you this, but the leaders of the western world dont give a hoot, they figure the more muslims kill each other, the less muslims we have to fight come armagedon.

"pray and enable JESUS manage it his will be finished" i do not comprehend if it truly is the finest thanks to do issues. because the declaring is going: imagine Globally, Act regionally. Make human beings attentive to what is going on. the authorities will by no ability reply till they comprehend their tenure is in jeopardy. So social gathering on your communities. and phone your representaives. that's the subsequent perfect element to a revolution.

Why is the USA being singled out?! Where are all the other countries? When we stick our neck out all we catch is flack!! Come see us when you have a collation of states that are going to equally share in solving the problem.

Because the people in the Darfur region are black. Their country has already been raped of it's natural resources and America has nothing to gain by helping them. Also America is tied up right now liberating Iraq......
