I'm going to get my bikini line waxed for the first time next week. The trouble is I'm nervous because I'm a bit 'fluffy' all over down there, even round the back. I'm not really bad but I do want to get rid of it all. I've heard of blokes getting the 'back, sack, crack thing done but I don't know if it's normal for a girl to ask for the equivalent. Can someone help me out so I don't make a complete fool of myself? Would a beautician be used to girls asking for that?

Thanks

brazillian wax

I know exactly what you mean, there are several options.

Your standard bikini wax should wax just a bit further in than where your pants come to, basically to make sure that nothing ever pokes out. Depending on the beautician you can ask them to wax higher/further in to get rid of more. I have found that this can give you a funny looking moheican sort of effect which personally I wasn't keen on.

Your next option (and my favourite - although it is only for the daring!) is a brazilian. Basically this leaves you with nothing but a little 'landing strip' at the front. Your bum and (excuse the term) flaps are totally defuzzed. This is the female equivalent of the 'sack and crack' part that men get.

One thing to be wary of is that every salon has a different definition of how far a bikini and brazilian wax should go. What I have told you is how it should be, but some salons are not trained for such waxing (it also takes special wax to do, not the same stuff they use on your legs). The best thing to do is explain in advance what you want and make sure that this is what they intend to do.

As far as it being normal or not, I can tell you its totally normal in Edinburgh! If the beautician gives you funny looks at the suggestion then walk right on out of there because they are obviously not professional or trained in the latest techniques!

ps. DON'T SHAVE! The effect will only last for a day or so and the itching when the hairs grow back will drive you bonkers!

I usually have a hollywood. My advice would be don't ask for a hollywood or a brazilian on your first visit. Just get the beautician to do a standard bikini line and gradually as you build up your resistance to the discomfort you can get them to move inwards and maybe underneath, and the hair will eventually come out easier and easier. If you are scared of it hurting then there is no shame in taking 2 nurofen and hour or so before you go in.
GO FOR IT!!

Listen girl, they will have seen everything, so don't worry, and yes girls can have the lot waxed - very normal, very painful. good luck. Take a friend with you and have a blooddy good laugh together. And being fluffy is not a problem, if you weren't, there would be no point in waxing would there!! I have just remembered, the celebs (?) also have that area bleached!! honest to God.

If you look for nude photos of women on-line you will see that (apart from the shaven and waxed ones) that most will have some hair around their crack. It's normal and the waxer will expect it to be there and to remove it. Believe me you are 100% normal with regards to this hair.

Go for the brazillian, this includes your behind passage also. it is a bit embarrassing getting it done your first time, but you feel great, and once you get it done you'll never go back !

Good luck it can be a bit painful :)
