When I make stupid mistakes, it's usually because I OVERTHINK the question. If it's because you are rushing (possible), then go through the whole test and answer every question with your "gut". Then go through the test AGAIN, reread every question and THINK about it.

Some people just don't test very well. They might do extremely well on homework, class assignments, etc., but when the time comes to take a test, with the entire class silent, intent on their tests in front of them, the teacher watching everybody and everything, nerves can set in, whether you are consciously aware of them or not.
All I can recommend is that you stay focused and stay calm, and think every answer through. On the same token, try not to stay on one question for too long. If you're stumped, come back to it later. If you find you don't have enough time to thoroughly examine questions you skipped, use your gut instinct and go with the answer that feels more right. Sometimes people "know" the answer subconsciously. Always go with your first instinct: it's not just a saying, it's the truth.

first off, stop looking at what your doing wrong. look at what your doing right. instead of saying i got 15 wrong, why not say i got 85 right. A positive attitude helps. Secondly, read questions slowly. i always look at my whole test 5 or 6 times before i turn it in. Here is one helpful advice: when I was in accounting class, my teacher told me to never miss a question that i know the answer to. that means place extra attention on every question. easy or hard. And - overstudying I don't believe in it. Study until however long it takes is my advice.

Yes you can over study. What happens is you study so much that when you read the questions you answer with half of the right answer and add something that isn't right. take you time and read the question more than once and do not read the next question until you are satisfied with your answer.

Double Check your work on tests.
Go back over and think deeply about your answers.
Yes, you are rushing and not putting in the thought/effort.
Things get harder as you go further in school.
You have to concentrate.
If you need help concentrating, then take a martial art.
they teach you that.
