I don't know where you get your information from but paranoid personality disorder, borderline personality disorder, and avodiant (what?do you mean avoidant?) personality disorder are absolutely NOT types of multiple personality disorder. They are most certainly mental disorders and can be diagnosed simulatneously with mpd, but they are not different types of it.

Mpd is, and has not been since 1994, known as mpd..it is now called DID..dissociative identity disorder..it was changed by the American Psychiatric Association's DSM-IV. It is considered still to be somewhat of a controversial diagnosis but the vast majority of psychiatrists and psychologist accept it as do most major medical insurance plans, although they often refuse to pay for treatment of the disease if it is done on a specific basis.

DID is thought to be linked specifically to repressed memories of childhood sexual abuse. This causes the mind to split into different personalites (which can number from several to a few thousand) each of which have a specific role and control the behavior of their host body. The largest and most obvious symptom would be blackouts, or loss of time.

There is argument that the disease has been created by therapists with the cooperation of their patients and society, but whether this is true or not does not change the fact that the disease and the cure exists.

Most cases of DID are not in any way, shape or form related to criminal acts..they are merely people that suffer from what can be an extremely debilitating mental disorder. There have been approximately 40,000 diagnoses of DID in North America since 1973..do you really believe they were all criminals trying to get off charges using mental disorder as an excuse?

Sybil is probably the most famous movie ever about DID, with 'The three faces of Eve', The Five of Me, and the Minds of Billy Milligan..also telling the stories of people living with it.

Multiple personality or split personality is a personality disorder. It is like broken pieces of glass all over your face. You reflect many different things at different times. Scheizophrenia, paranoia, manic depressiveness, aedipus complex, cleptomania, physchosis, nuerosis, excessive compulsiveness etc; are various forms of persoanlity disorders. The presnece of this can change the personality on a timely basis and excess of whic can make you think you are someone else and variations of which can cause all the problems you describe. Sometimes in extreme id tensed states you can acquire extreme fear phsychosis or persecution complexes which can lead to behavior failure or systemic failure or even physchosomatic diseases.
