it's never too late to start college. you have the right attitude and you can do it. I'm in my second year and I'm 22 i started at age 21 because my parents couldn't afford it. i worked for awhile after high school then i migrated to the USA and i worked and saved my money towards college. after a year of saving i went back. I'm currently working full time and studying full time and doing great. all the best with everything you can definitely do it. oh and my stepmom is 50 and she went back too. we started the same time. hope that's enough encouragement for you.

Short answer - absolutely not! There are lots of people who are much older than that going to college. My 18 yr old is a freshman at a university now, she's commented on how many older people (40+) there are in her classes. It's very common for people to get an undergrad degree (BS in engineering or nursing for example) then go back after 5-10 years in the work force and get a masters degree.
Long answer - think of a college education as an investment. If you think purely of the money aspect, you are going to invest a significant amount of money in obtaining this eduction. One would usually expect to get a return on an investment, so the question is what is the $ return you expect to achieve for this investment? When you consider if it's to late, you should think about how long is acceptable to you to achieve the return you expect, is it worth it?
An example, my wife was thinking about getting a medical degree to become an MD. She was in her late 30's at the time, but she already has a degree and is earning about $50K/year. To become an MD requires somewhere along the lines of 4 years of graduate studies, followed by ~6 years of internship + residency before you start to make the big $. The 4 years of medical school alone would cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $150-$200K. If she doesn't pass the medical boards until she is pushing 50 years old, and you estimate that you then only have maybe 15 years to earn back the money invested - is it worth it? Would she earn the money we invested in the education back in that time, sure. Would she earn a return on that investment that outweighs the income she could have earned in her current carrer had she not taken ~10 years off to get a medical degree.......hmmm not so sure?
This of course doesn't take into consideration of things like personal satisfaction, happiness etc... Many more things to consider than just the monitary investment.

Its never too late to go to school. I went to undergrad, got my bachelors and decided to see what was out there. I'm now 26 and going back to get a masters because I know what I want to do now. When I was in undergrad, I worked with the admissions department in my unit. All of the admissions counselors said that as long as a student was able to take knowledge and experience from their time away from school and use it to better their educational experience, they did not care how long they had been out of school.

No way. A lot of people wait a couple of years before pursuing higher education. I'm 22 and I'm still working on my degree bc I changed my major after two years, and my friend graduated from college and just started his bachelors at a university this year

Hello! Age doesn't matter as long as you're interested in attending college. It's good that you're keen to further your studies. It's ok if you wanna work and earn some $ and experience before continuing with your studies. One need not always follow the conventional way of going straight to college after high school. Good luck! =)

I like your attitude. If I were a prospective employer I would rate you for initiative, enthusiasm and courage. It's never too late to learn. If you did attend college you would be an inspiration for others around you. All the best.

Not at all too late. More and more people in the US are going to college later. You can ask colleges about their students' average age if you want to end up in a place where you'll feel right at home in that respect.
