I became friends at work with a woman I believe may be a lesbian also. How do I bring up the subject? Just in case she isn't, I don't want to lose her as a friend but I am interested in her and would like to date her if she is gay also.

I would ask her to acompany you to something outside of work a casual dinner, drinks, lunch etc. And speak to her about it then if she doesn't bring up the subject. Or just flat out ask her if she is seeing anyone, if she is interested in anyone and if she brings up anyone specific you have your answer. Should you go a different route and ask her out and she is not a lesbian then just tell her you made a mistake and hope she is not offended by the comment, a good friend would not be so hopefully she is understanding.

I saw this very shirt (WARNING: Discriminating), "I only agree to gay marriage if both chicks are hot". Why don't you wear something like that during days when you don't have to don a business attire? Or use a mug that says a lesbian inside joke, I'd say if I was that girl, and I'm into girls, that could be a conversation starter. Oh.. make sure she sees it.

Try to find out where she hangs out and maybe suggest you two do something together. Then i guess it would be easier to find out more about her... make sure you let her know your views... even if she is not gay in the long run of a friendship it's nice to know who your friend is. Maybe when she see you're open minded, she'll tell you on her own. Good luck!

Just a word of advise....It is never a good idea to date people you work with. It could get ugly if the relationship does not work out.

I would just tell her that I was a lesbian. Think about it if she doesnt want to be your friend because you are a lesbian is she really someone you want in your life?

That sure is tricky! If I were you I would wait a lot longer. Just imagine if she pulled a harrasment case on you! Wait a few months more, see if she tells You first.

If you're out to everyone else, wear some sort of discreet pride jewelry, like double-woman-symbol post earrings. Bet she'll notice! :-)

Perhaps you can mention a previous girlfriend in casual conversation.
