First lets define "terrorist." A terrorist is someone instills fear for political or military gain. Based on that fact, it is fair to say that there are a lot of people in this world, and country-liberal and republican alike-who are terrorists.

Your question is framed rather vaguely, however I think it is an important one.

"Terrorists", if you are referring to who the Bush administration has labeled "terrorists" do not, in my view, choose one over the other--meaning liberals and republicans. Their beef is with our government and its policies, as well as the American people who support those policies.

The U.S. has a horrific track record for occupation, warfare, killing civilians, invasion, shady trade agreements, and for pilfering the rest of the world of its resources.

If you were to study middle eastern history and US foreign policy, you would find that the Taliban was only able to come to power after the US funneled money and arms to the Muhajadeen via the CIA through Pakistan. Most Americans are shocked to learn that most members of the original Taliban were Pakistani. Yes, the Taliban did go on to, and still does, recruit poor Middle Eastern men from other countries such as Afghanistan to fight for them.

It is not uncommon for those in power to pray on the poor and undereducated to do their fighting for them. The US Military is a case in point.

Osama Bin Laden was once a member of the Muhajadeen and we supported his cause against the soviets, funneling massive amounts of money and arms. Not knowing of course, that he would later get disilliusioned with the US and form Al-Quaeda.

The US has been a consistent presence in the Middle East militarily going so far as to help the British steal the oil rights from the Iranians, to supporting Saddam Hussein and looking the other way when he gassed the Kurds with weapons he recieved from us.

US foreign policy in the Middle East is much more elaborate and historical then the pundits in the media and the government are willing to disclose.

They want support for war for their own interests, not to educate the American public on foreign policy.

This is apparent when you try to talk to someone who is a die hard supporter of the Bush administration. Often all that comes out of their psyche via their mouth is the regurgetated rhetoric that ticks across the screen on any one of the 24 hour news channels.

Saying that terrorists like liberals and hate republicans is a case in point.

Statements like that are confusing and truly miss the point about what is really going on over there, and why.

Because the Liberals think everything can be settled by talking. Everyone can be reasoned with in the Liberal view. The terrorist know that if Liberals had their way, we would downsize the military, would not have struck back at the terrorist.

Look at all the people that said they wanted the Democrats to win. Castro, OBL, Iran, Syria, North Korea just to name a few. Sad to say that the Democrats/Liberals are the best friends of this countries enemies.

hey FabMom, republicans loved terrorists, when they were supplying them with arms in the 80s.
They also loved them in the past few years when the Bush admin made a cease-fire agreement with "good terrorists"!
The only difference between a terrorist, and a freedom fighter, is whther or not they serve a purpose to republicans or not.
if they do, they are a freedom fighter, if they don't, they are a terrorist.
afterall, it was Ronny Reagan who first called the terrorists of today his freedom fighters, because they were fighting Soviet expansion into their territory.
will the "freedom fighters" that bush declared a cease-fire with, because they only killed Iranian kids in terrorist acts, be our terrorists of tomorrow?
Republicans love terror, they thrive on it, just as much as the terrorist themselves do! Terrorism is the republican legacy!!
