You can get Salamence with a couple of different moves. Salamence is a Dragon/Flying type; the Dragon type makes it strong against Fire, Water, and Grass moves while the Flying type makes it strong against Fighting, Bug, Grass, and immune to Ground moves. Normally, Dragon is also strong against Electric type moves, but the Flying type is weak against Electric, so it balances out.
However, the Flying type is weak against Ice and Rock, while the Dragon type is weak against Dragon and Ice. If you hit Salamence with an Ice-type attack, it will be super-effective for 4x normal damage because both types are weak against Ice. Rock and Dragon type moves will only be 2x super effective.
You'll want to be careful taking a Dragon-type to battle Salamence because Dragon-types are weak against Dragon moves and Salamence is very fast and has a high attack--it could KO your Pokemon before you even get a chance to attack. I use a Glalie with Ice Beam to take care of most of the Dragon-type Pokemon I encounter, including Salamence.

Salamence is a dragon type, so he's weak aganist dragon type attacks like twister, Dragon Claw etc. and ice based attacks like Ice Beam and blizzard.
If you're facing Drake, come prepared with a powerful ice Pokemon with ice beam, or a high level pokemon that can learn dragon claw.
