Because HIV-AIDS is primarilly a sexually transmitted disease, and you'd have to teach the kids about the birds and the bees before you could discuss the transmission of the disease. Many or most parents want to be the ones to introduce the topic of sex to their kids, especially the first discussions, and they may feel grade school is too early. This type of discussion could frighten them- but a little fear goes a long way sometimes if it makes you cautious and thoughtful, because if you get HIV you can't undo it.

sorry, I can't think of one.
There should be no reason why we should not teach AIDS prevention in schools.
