Call your local postmaster and have her prosecuted for tampering with the US mail. If she can impede that then talk to a postmaster in a nearby town etc. Make sure you document the entire process and that you have significant proof of the incident. Otherwise it is a "he said, she said" case that will get no where and waste judicial time.

Good luck.

All you can do is report it to the Inspection Service. Calling the Postmaster and complaining will only serve to potentially give your ex-mother-in-law a heads up if the inspectors investigate. Generally speaking, she probably won't immediately get into trouble over this; investigations like this can take a long time. It should definitely be your first step, though. Good luck.

You forgot to give the state this happened in ..........but go on to the United States Postal Service website and get your local or state postal inspector's information. There are various ways to contact him. I believe you can fax, email ,call or write them.
Have your information together - dates , letter information and STAY CALM. Don't swear or threaten just give facts and explain that this is a privacy issue.
You may want to change post offices in the future.

Contact your local postal inspection service. It should be listed in the yellow pages or call any post office and just ask for the number.
