Gerbils along with other small mammals (rabbits, Cavies, mice, rats, ect.) tend to be nocturnal (meaning they sleep in the day and stay awake at night) They are most active in the early morning and around ten o'clock at night...

MICE, RATS,GERBILS AND HAMSTERS ARE NOCTURNAL (NOT RABBITS THEY ARE ACTIVE 24HRS) THEY WILL SLEEP ALL DAY AND BECOME ACTIVE PRETTY MUCH AFTER THE SUN GOES DOWN AND ALL THE REST OF THE NIGHT. IF YOU HAVE A EXERCISE WHEEL IN WITH YOUR PET AND IT KEEPS YOU AWAKE AT NIGHT , MAYBE YOU SHOULD JUST MOVE IT TO ANOTHER ROOM. SO THAT YOU MIGHT GET SOME SLEEP
