Its for a rental property in North Carolina where I previously lived.
The property manager sent me a letter stating I still owe $400 because my deposit was only $100.
$500 sounds like a lot of money to fix small repairs. Do I have the right to get an itemized list that shows where my money went?

Yes, he must tell you why you owe the money - and you can query individual costs, like $200 for carpet cleaning etc.

Yes, You do. Without it he will have a hard time collecting your money, even if he takes you to court! Without it, don't pay a dime!

YES and insist upon it. Also, check the list so that nothing bogus has been added.
