WHAT IS A FRIEND

A friend is someone who understands and
someone you can trust.

They will listen to you both night and day without ever making a fuss.
A friend will stand by your side when you are right and sometimes when you are wrong.

They will hold you up when you are weak and provide support to make you strong.
A friend's love is unconditional and unique in every way.

And when you have problems a true friend will kneel with you and pray.
A friend will stand by your side through thick and thin.

And whenever everyone have deserted you they still will be your friend.
A friend once said to me that a friend is sent from God above and I believe this to be true.

Because God has sent a friend to me and that friend to me is YOU.

Some1 who doesn't have to ask you if you're okay or not he/she will automatically know straight away.

Some1 who understands why you do certain things and stands by you even when they might not agree with it.

these are what i would define as a good mate; )

A good mate is having respect for you lending you things eg like money or other importent things someone you can turn to if you need them at anytime spending time with being there for each other going out for a drink going for a chat if you need a break from your partner. A GOOD MATE IS SOMEONE WHO NEVER TURNS THEY BACK ON YOU WHEN YOU NEED THEM.

i`ve got 5 very good mates. 4 guys and a woman. i see them more as my brothers and sisters than my real brothers and sisters. i`d actually put my life on the line for any of them. one of my mates died in 1990 and we all still miss him really badly. he was one of lifes nice guys

Someone with whom you can disagree profoundly with over certain issues without it ever becoming personal or bitchy. Someone whom, even if you go your separate ways in the future, will always remain a friend. a good mate is someone who's there for you no matter what...someone you can tell your secrets to and they wont repeat them, someone who will never let you down, someone you can trust and rely on, and someone who wont screw your partner behind your back....good friends are hard to come by in this day and age, i have HAD some good friends until i saw their true colours so now i choose to have acquaintances instead...i find it hard to trust people in my personal circle because i have been let down on occasion...i keep them at arms length
