"Make sure the disk isn't full or write-protected and that the file isn't currently in use"

Hit Control-ALT - Delete once to bring up the task manager. Click the Processes tab. Look for isamonitor in the list. If you see it, right click on it and choose end task.. Then turn off system restore. The reason for this is so the infection is not sided in the memory. Then open your system 32 folder. You can get thier by opening the MY Computer icon in the Start menu. Open your main drive (C:), then open Windows, then system 32 folder. Look for isamonitor.exe. Right click and delete. Empty your recycle Bin. This should take care of your infection.

I suggest that you try to carryout system restore onceagain to a day previous to the day when there was no virus or any problems. It may be a few weeks or months back. You have to decide the date. Detailed instructions are posted at http://fixit.in/systemrestore.html
The problem is likely to be solved. Then,You insatll a standard antivirus soft ware such as Norton, AVG , Avast ( free antivirus software and Ad-aware, Ewido ( free spyware removers). You can download free softwares at
http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html

Adware is not harmful usually and is often imbedded in programs that make removal impossible. I suggest you get Norton Internet Security 2007. I protects against several things plus viruses and is much better than McAfee.
