can anyone tell me how to do this?

say i wanted to type the numbers 1.2.3.4. How do i make them go straight down(such as numbering a paper) sorry i dont know much about computers!...Thanks

Well, you don't told us if you wish to make a program to do it or other thing.

I usually do it with Excel.

Supposing you have Excel, you can write in a column, for example, the numbers like shown below:

2

So, mark with the mouse these numbers, selecting both cells.

At the right side of the last number, in this case 2,
will appear a "+", so click on it and drag it down and Excel
will create the sequence in the column.

It's located at the top of the page, you will see a button with little numbers on it.

Don't waste your time typing number by number.
