Well, you don't told us if you wish to make a program to do it or other thing.
I usually do it with Excel.
Supposing you have Excel, you can write in a column, for example, the numbers like shown below:
1
2
So, mark with the mouse these numbers, selecting both cells.
At the right side of the last number, in this case 2,
will appear a "+", so click on it and drag it down and Excel
will create the sequence in the column.

In Microsoft Word just use the numbering bullets.
It's located at the top of the page, you will see a button with little numbers on it.
Don't waste your time typing number by number.

You have to be in a program, like excel. Then you need to use a formula. It's pretty easy, but let us know what program you are trying to do this in. Your computer is nothing without programs.
