This was sent to me in an email. Is it true? If so its a very good thing to know, but Ive never heard of it before.

PIN NUMBER REVERSAL (GOOD TO KNOW)

If you should ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from
an ATM machine, you can notify the police by entering your Pin # in reverse.

For example if your pin number is 1234 then you would put in 4321. The ATM recognizes
that your pin number is backwards from the ATM card you placed in the machine.

The machine will still give you the money you requested, but unknown to the robber,
the police will be immediately dispatched to help you.

This information was recently broadcasted on TV and it states that it is seldom used
because people don't know it exists.

Please pass this along to everyone possible.

I have no idea, but given that the machine will keep your card if you enter your PIN incorrectly three times in a row, and that IS a fact, I'm not up for trying it.

Impossible. What if your number is 4334? or 1111? or 9229? Then they are the same in reverse. If you're getting robbed, hand over the cash - you can claim back from the bank. Or if it's a junked up piece of scum - knock their head off and do the world a favour.
