Depends on the flower... but I've come to see that most flowers from shops don't smell to well. So it's always better to plant your own :-)

If your question is, why do florist flowers have hardly any scent.
Alot of times the flowers are kept in coolers and in the cooler they don't not have much of a smell. Once they are taken out and allowed to warm up the scent becomes stronger.

Yes, many flowers have a fragrance they exude. Depending upon your personal tastes, not all of them may be thought to be pleasant.

Florists tend to pick flowers that are not all that strongly fragrant, because people can be allergic, or even if they aren't they can form an opinion and florists are all about initial impressions so they don't dare.
